Most people you meet online are exactly who they say they are. A few simple habits keep it that way.

While chatting

Keep conversations inside the app until you trust the person. Never send money, gift cards or financial details to someone you have not met, whatever the reason they give. Be cautious with anyone who avoids video calls or pushes you to move quickly.

Protect your information

Do not share your home address, workplace details, passwords or identity documents. Choose photos that do not give away where you live.

Meeting in person

Meet in a busy public place, tell a friend where you are going and when you expect to be back, and arrange your own transport there and home. If something feels wrong, leave. You do not owe anyone an explanation.

Report problems

If someone makes you uncomfortable, asks for money or breaks our community guidelines, block and report them in the app. In an emergency, contact your local emergency services.
